Liquid Line Replacement
LIQUID LINE REPLACEMENTTOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the bolt (1) from the liquid line (2) at the condenser (3).
3. Remove the nut (1) from the liquid line (2) at the TXV (3).
4. Remove the liquid line from the vehicle.
5. Discard all of the used sealing washers.
6. Cap the system openings.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the caps.
2. Install the liquid line hose assembly.
3. Install the liquid line at the TXV using new sealing washers.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the liquid line nut (1) at the TXV (3).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
5. Install the liquid line bolt (1) to the condenser (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
6. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
