Wiper Gear Box: Service and Repair

WIPER TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
- J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the wiper arms.
3. Remove the air inlet grille panel.




4. Remove the drive link from the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39232.
5. Remove the wiper transmission fasteners.




6. Disconnect the washer hose from the wiper transmission.
7. Remove the wiper transmission assembly from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the wiper transmission into the vehicle.
2. Connect the washer hose to the wiper transmission.




3. Install the wiper transmission fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the wiper transmission fasteners to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

4. Install the drive link onto the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39529.
5. Install the air inlet grille panel.
6. Install the wiper arms.
7. Close the hood.
