Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Rack and Pinion)

Removal Procedure

Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Remove the power steering outlet hose (4) from the power steering gear (3).
2. Remove the power steering outlet hose (4) from the power steering cooler (5).

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the power steering outlet hose (4) to the power steering cooler (5).
2. Connect the power steering outlet hose (4) to the power steering gear (3). Hand tighten only.

3. Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Connect the power steering outlet hose (2) to the power steering pump (1).
^ Tighten both hose connections to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

4. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
5. Inspect all the hose connections for leaks.
