Wiper Motor Replacement

WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (3).
2. Remove the 4 mounting bolts (1) which secure the windshield wiper motor.
3. Pull the windshield wiper motor (2) away from the bulkhead.




4. Gently pry the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) from the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2).

IMPORTANT: Do not service the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2) separately. Do not disconnect the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2) from the windshield wiper motor (3). The crank arm (2) is positioned on the wiper motor (3) in order to allow the windshield wiper arms to return to their normal park position.

5. Remove the windshield wiper motor (3) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) to the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2).




2. Install the windshield wiper motor (2) to the bulkhead. Secure the wiper motor with the 4 mounting bolts (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in service precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the windshield wiper motor mounting bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (3).
