Body Panel Adjustment
In order to have proper function and appearance of sheet metal components, it is critical that certain fits and gaps between components be maintained. The gaps given in this procedure are suggested as the best alignment for these components.
* Align the hood with the grille in order to obtain a gap of 10-12 mm (0.34-0.42 in).
Ensure that the surface of the grille to the surface of the hood is flush within 1.0 mm (0.04 in).
* Starting with the fenders, align each fender in order to obtain a gap of 4.0-6.0 mm (0.16-0.24 in) between the fenders and the hood.
Ensure that the surface of the fender is flush with the surface of the hood within 1.00 mm (0.04 in).
* Align the fenders in order to obtain a gap of 3.5-6.5 mm (0.06-0.18 in) between the fenders and the marker lamp assembly.
* Align the doors in order to obtain a gap of 4.0-6.0 mm (0.16-0.24 in) around the outside perimeter. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
