Canister Vent Valve: Service and Repair



EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER VENT SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Clean all evaporative emission (EVAP) line connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting, in order to avoid possible EVAP system contamination.




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the canister vent solenoid (CVS) electrical connector (1).




3. Disconnect the CVS quick connect fitting (1).
4. Remove the harness clip from the CVS line.
5. Push in the CVS retainer (2).
6. Slide the CVS from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Pry out the retainer on the CVS bracket (2) in order to engage the CVS.
2. Slide the CVS onto the bracket. Ensure the CVS engages.
3. Install the harness clip to the CVS line.
4. Connect the CVS quick connect fitting (1).




5. Disconnect the canister vent solenoid (CVS) electrical connector (1).
6. Lower the vehicle.
