Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair



MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the left front tire and wheel.
3. Remove the left front fender liner.
4. Remove the left front splash shield-engine.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
6. Remove the 2 fasteners.
7. Remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner housing.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the MAF sensor into the air cleaner housing.
2. Secure the MAF sensor to the air cleaner housing with the 2 fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the 2 fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the left front splash shield-engine.
5. Install the left front fender liner.
6. Install the left front tire and wheel.
7. Lower the vehicle.
