Condition
Some customers may comment that the Air Bag Readiness Light/SIR light is on.
Diagnosis with a scan tool may reveal DTCs B0057, B0058, B0059, B0064, B0065, B0065 current or in history.
Cause
The most likely cause of the DTC(s) is a poor and/or intermittent connection at the front seat belt retractor/pretensioner. It has been found at the Warranty Parts Center (WPC) that front seat belt retractors/pretensioners are unnecessarily being replaced for the above listed DTCs.
It has also been found on some extended cab models that the seat belt retractor/pretensioner wiring may be chaffed/damaged in the rear door or between the rear door and the body.
