Catalytic Converter Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the intermediate pipes.
3. Remove the oxygen sensors from the left catalytic convertor.

4. Important: DO NOT reuse the gasket between the catalytic convertor and the exhaust manifold. Use new only.

Remove the mounting nuts (3) and gasket (1) from the exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the catalytic convertor (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the NEW exhaust seal.
2. Install the NEW exhaust gasket (1) on the catalytic convertor (2).
3. Position the catalytic convertor (2) on the exhaust manifold.

4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the mounting nuts (3) for the catalytic convertor (2).
Tighten the mounting nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the oxygen sensors in the left catalytic convertor.
6. Install the intermediate pipes.
7. Lower the vehicle.
