Temperature Control Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
Important:
The heater/air distribution case linkage is non-adjustable. Use care when removing.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
3. Disconnect the cable retainer from the blower housing.
4. Slide the cable eyelet off the post on the temperature door lever.
5. Remove the audio system trim plate. Refer to Radio Replacement Service and Repair in Entertainment.
6. Remove the 4 controller retaining screws.
7. Pull out the controller to provide clearance for removal of the temperature control cable.
8. Disconnect the temperature control cable eyelet from the post on the controller.
9. Snap the cable housing connector out of the slide position on the controller.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the temperature control cable eyelet to the post on the controller.
2. Snap the cable housing connector to the slide position on the controller.
3. Gently insert the controller into position on the center console.
Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Install the 4 controller retaining screws.
Tighten the controller retaining screws to 4 Nm (35 lb in).
5. Install the temperature control cable eyelet to the post on the temperature door lever.
6. Snap the cable retainer to the blower housing.
7. Move the temperature control to verify the smooth operation and function of the door and the cable.
8. Install the audio system trim plate. Refer to Radio Replacement Service and Repair in Entertainment.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Operate the heating and cooling systems to verify proper function.
11. Install the instrument panel storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
