Heater Core Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the HVAC module from the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Removal and Installation Service and Repair.

2. Remove the wiring harness from the HVAC module.





3. Remove the temperature motor lever and actuator rod.





4. Remove the mode motor ventilation link.





5. Remove the air inlet case with the screws.





6. Remove the evaporator core case cover.





7. Remove the heater core cover with the screws.





8. Remove the heater core clip.





9. Remove the heater core from the case.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the heater core into the case.





2. Install the heater core clip.





3. Install the heater core cover.

4. Install and finger tighten the screws that secure the heater core cover to the aircon module.





5. Install the evaporator core case cover.

6. Install and finger tighten the screws that secure the evaporator core cover to the A/C module.





7. Install the air inlet case with the screws.





8. Install the motor and the screws for the floor diverter.

9. Install the HVAC module. Refer to Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Removal and Installation Service and Repair

10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.5L) Service and Repair.

11. Connect the negative battery cable.

12. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
