Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.





2. Remove the lower steering column cover panel screw.

3. Turn the steering wheel in order to access the upper steering column cover panel screws. Remove the upper steering column cover panel screws.

4. Remove the upper and the lower steering column cover panels.





5. Remove the audio system trim plate and move the radio in order to allow enough working space for the removal of the instrument cluster trim panel screws. Refer to Radio Replacement Service and Repair.





6. Remove the floor console side extension. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side.

7. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement Knee Bolster Replacement.

8. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement.





9. Remove the steering column jacket assembly securing bolts and nuts. Lower the steering column in order to access the ignition and start switch housing.





10. Set the ignition key to ACC position.

11. Remove the key cylinder by pushing the disassemble button and pulling out the key at the same time.

Installation Procedure





1. Set the ignition key to the ACC position.

2. Install the key cylinder into the housing.

3. Remove the key from the cylinder.





Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

4. Install the steering column jacket assembly with the bolts and nuts.

Tighten the steering column jacket assembly securing bolts and nuts to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).





5. Install the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement.

6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement Knee Bolster Replacement.

7. Install the floor console side extension. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side.





8. Install the radio and the audio system trim plate. Refer to Radio Replacement Service and Repair.





9. Install the upper and the lower steering column cover panels.

10. Install the lower steering column cover panel screw.

Tighten the lower steering column cover panel screw to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

11. Turn the steering wheel in order to access the upper steering column cover panel screw holes. Install the upper steering column cover panel screws.

Tighten the upper steering column cover panel screws to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.
