Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Replacement - Input
Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the input speed sensor (1) electrical connector.
3. Remove the input speed sensor bolt.
4. Remove the input speed sensor (1) and the bracket assembly from the case.
5. Inspect the vehicle speed sensor assembly (1) for any evidence of damage.

Installation Procedure





1. Lubricate the input speed sensor seal with automatic transmission fluid.
2. Install the input speed sensor (1) and the bracket assembly.

3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the bolt.
^ Tighten the bolt to 11 Nm (96 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the input speed sensor electrical connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
