Power Folding Top - Adding Fluid

POWER FOLDING TOP - ADDING FLUID

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.

CAUTION: Refer to Eye Protection Caution in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT:
- When servicing the hydraulic system do not allow the fluid level to drop below the minimum indicator line on the reservoir.
- Inspect the hydraulic fluid level with the vehicle parked on a level surface, the folding top in the open position, and the stowage compartment lid open.

2. Place the folding top in the open position.
3. Open the stowage compartment lid.
4. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
5. Locate the hydraulic pump in the folding top storage compartment area.
6. Remove the folding top pump noise cover from the pump.
7. Place a shop towel around the pump motor to control any hydraulic fluid spillage.




8. Remove the reservoir filler plug (1)
9. Add fluid P/N 89022748 until the fluid level is at the MINIMUM indicator line in the reservoir.
10. Install the reservoir filler plug (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

11. Remove the shop towel.
12. Remove the protective covering.
13. Close the stowage compartment lid.
14. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
15. Ensure that the folding top is in the open position.
16. Open the stowage compartment lid.
17. Inspect the fluid level and add fluid as necessary.
18. Install the folding top pump noise cover onto the pump.
19. Close the stowage compartment lid.
20. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
