Shift Shaft and Shift Forks Cleaning and Inspection





1. Clean all the parts in a suitable cleaning solvent. Air dry the parts.
2. Inspect the shift shaft for wear or scoring.
3. Inspect the shift shaft forks for wear, scoring, or distortion.
4. Inspect the roll pins for wear or distortion.
5. Inspect the shift shaft socket assembly components for wear or distortion.
6. Replace the worn or distorted parts. Inspect all the mating parts.
