Steering Column Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
2. Set the steering wheel in the LOCK position.
3. Remove the intermediate shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement - Lower.
4. Remove the nuts from the studs.
5. Remove the seal from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the seal to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the nuts to the studs.
^ Tighten the nuts to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).
3. Install the intermediate shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement - Lower.
