Adjustable Foot Pedals Will Not Recall to Pre-Selected Position and/or Heated Seats Inoperative, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B3606 (Replace Brake Pedal Position Sensor)

2005 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT
2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, TrailBlazer
2005 GMC Envoy, Yukon, Yukon XL

with Seat Heated FRT, Individual (RPO AN3) and/or Power Adjustable Pedals (RPO JF4)





Built Between the Build Dates shown.

Condition

Some customers may comment that the adjustable toot pedals do not return to the pre-selected position and/or the heated seats are inoperative.

Scan tool diagnosis may reveal a DTC B3606 set.

Cause

The brake pedal position sensor may be the cause.

Correction





1. Inspect the date code on the brake pedal position sensor. The suspect brake pedal position sensor date codes are between 334-394.

^ If the brake pedal position sensor date code is NOT within the suspect codes, refer to the appropriate SI diagnostic information for the customer's concern.

^ If the date code is within the suspect date code, continue with the next step.

2. Replace the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to the following information:

^ Full size trucks - Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement.

^ Mid size utilities - Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement.

3. Verify that the repair is complete.
