Heater Coolant Heater Replacement

HEATER COOLANT HEATER REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac N Fill).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the FOH muffler.
4. Disconnect the FOH electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the fuel supply hose to the FOH.




6. Reposition the heater hose clamps at the fuel operated heater (FOH) using J 38185.
7. Remove the heater hoses from the FOH.




8. Remove the air supply hose from the FOH.




9. Remove the FOH retaining bolt.




10. Remove the FOH from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the FOH to the bracket.




2. Install the FOH retaining bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.




3. Install the air supply hose to the FOH.




4. Install the heater hoses to the FOH.
5. Reposition the heater hose clamps at the fuel operated heater (FOH) using J 38185.
6. Connect the fuel supply hose to the FOH.
7. Connect the FOH electrical connectors.
8. Install the FOH muffler.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (Vac N Fill).
