Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Restraint System Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
2. Position the steering column in the full downward position.





3. Unsnap and remove the upper steering column cover.





4. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.
5. Remove the lower steering column trim cover.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the lower steering column cover.

2. Important:
Tighten the lower steering column screws in the mandatory torque sequence as shown.

Install the lower steering column cover screws.

Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2 Nm (17 inch lbs.).





3. Install the upper steering column trim cover by guiding the soft closeout under the I/P Trim Panel.
4. Push on the upper steering column cover until it snaps into place and is secure.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Restraint System Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
