Mode Valve Assembly Replacement

MODE VALVE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the HVAC module assembly.
2. Remove the lower center floor air outlet duct.
3. Remove the upper center floor air outlet duct screws.
4. Remove the upper center floor air outlet duct.




5. Remove the mode actuator screws.




6. Remove the mode actuator.
7. Drill out the mode valve assembly heat stakes.
8. Remove the valve assembly screws.

NOTE: Do not tamper, adjust or disassemble the mode valve assembly. The proper setting of the pretensions on the springs is critical to the film valve function.




9. Remove the valve assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the valve assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the valve assembly screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

3. Install the mode actuator.




4. Install the mode actuator screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

5. Install the upper center floor air outlet duct.




6. Install the upper center floor air outlet duct screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

7. Install the lower center floor air outlet duct.
8. Install the HVAC module assembly.
