Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair



MASS AIR FLOW (MAF)/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the breather pipe from the air intake duct.




3. Remove the electrical connector for the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor replacement.




4. Loosen the clamps on the air intake duct.
5. Remove the air intake duct.




6. Remove the MAF/IAT (1) sensor and clamp (2) from the air cleaner assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the MAF/IAT sensor (1) and clamp (2) in the air cleaner assembly.




2. Install the air intake duct and clamps.
3. Tighten all the clamps. Two clamps are shown, the rest are similar.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the clamps to 4 N.m (35 lb in).




4. Install the electrical connector.




5. Install the breather pipe in the air intake duct.
6. Close the hood.
