Exhaust Manifold Installation
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
1. Install new exhaust manifold studs and tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
2. Install the block heater, if equipped. Tighten the block heater bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
4. Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.
5. Install NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts finger tight.
6. Tighten the NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts in sequence.
1. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 14 Nm (10 lb ft).
2. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts a second time to 14 Nm (10 lb ft).
7. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
8. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
