Front Steering Gear Crossmember Replacement


Removal Procedure





1.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

2.Remove the engine shield mounting bolts.

3.Remove the engine shield.





4.Remove the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.





5.Remove the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.

6.Remove the steering gear crossmember.

Installation Procedure





1.Install the steering gear crossmember.

Caution:Refer to Fastener Caution .

2.Install the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts and tighten to50 N �m (37 lb ft).





3.Install the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts and tighten to230 N �m (170 lb ft).





4.Install the engine shield.

5.Install the engine shield mounting bolts and tighten to20 N �m (15 lb ft).

6.Lower the vehicle.
