Knock Sensor Replacement - Bank 2

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
2. Remove the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the knock sensor.




4. Loosen and remove the bank 2 knock sensor (2).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

Note: DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects the sensors ability to detect detonation.

1. Install the bank 2 knock sensor (2) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the knock sensor.
3. Install the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
