Transmission Control Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement (Front Floor Console Replacement).
2. If necessary, remove the shift control knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement (Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement).




3. Remove the shift cable retaining clip.
4. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift control assembly.




5. Disconnect the shift lock solenoid harness connector (4).
6. Remove the shift control nuts (2).
7. Remove the shift control (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the shift control (3) to the vehicle.
2. Connect the shift lock solenoid harness connector (4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the shift control nuts (2) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




4. Connect the shift cable to the shift control assembly.
5. If the shift control knob was removed, install the shift control knob. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement (Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement).
6. Install the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement (Front Floor Console Replacement).
