Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair




Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Gently lift up the rear of the air cleaner assembly in order to disengage the air cleaner from the studs.
2. Reposition the air cleaner assembly in order to access the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and the throttle body duct.
3. Reposition the PCV hose clamp (1) at the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the PCV hose (2) from the air cleaner assembly.




5. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.




6. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
7. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the air cleaner assembly.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.

Tighten the clamp to 5 Nm (44 lb in).




3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.




4. Install the PCV hose (2) to the air cleaner assembly.
5. Position the PCV hose clamp (1) at the air cleaner assembly.
6. Seat the air cleaner assembly onto the studs.
