Turbocharger Coolant Bypass Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement).
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
3. Reposition the coolant inlet hose clamp (2).
4. Disconnect the turbocharger coolant inlet hose from the turbocharger bypass valve (1).




5. Remove the turbocharger bypass valve and washer.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the turbocharger bypass valve and washer.

Tighten the valve to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).




2. Connect the turbocharger coolant inlet hose to the turbocharger bypass valve (1).
3. Position the coolant inlet hose clamp (2).
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (Service and Repair).
5. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement).
