Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Knee Bolster Replacement).




2. Remove the lower steering column trim cover bolts.




3. Gently unsnap the upper and lower steering column trim covers and remove them.

Installation Procedure




1. Place the upper steering column trim cover onto the steering column.

Note: If the vehicle has a column shift, the shift lever seal must be seated in the steering column trim covers correctly.

2. Position the shift lever seal as needed.




3. Gently snap the lower and upper steering column trim covers together.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the lower steering column trim cover bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

5. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Knee Bolster Replacement).
