Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD))Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD)).
3. For the 6.0L engine, remove the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LGH, LML) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZ1, L20, LC9, L9H, L92, LMG) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement).
4. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
5. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the bracket to the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the washers and the nuts to the bracket.
Tighten the bracket to frame nuts to 90 Nm (67 lb ft).
3. For the 6.0L engine, install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LGH, LML) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LZ1, L20, LC9, L9H, L92, LMG) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) (Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement).
4. Install the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD))Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD)).
5. Lower the vehicle.
