Front Brake Caliper Hardware Replacement (LSA)
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning Brake Dust Warning.
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w RT2) Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w RT2)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w/o RT2) Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w/o RT2).
3. Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolt (1).
4. Hold the end of the brake pad spring down and carefully drive out the lower brake pad pin (1) from the brake caliper.
5. Remove the brake pad spring (1).
6. Carefully drive out the upper brake pad pin (1) from the brake caliper.
7. Remove the brake caliper guide pin (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Inspect the brake pad pins and brake pad spring for damage or excessive corrosion and replace, if necessary.
2. Install the brake caliper guide pin (1).
3. Carefully drive the upper brake pad pin (1) into the brake caliper.
4. Ensure the brake pad pin is fully seated in the brake caliper.
5. Install the brake pad spring (1).
6. Hold the end of the brake pad spring down and carefully drive the lower brake pad pin (1) into the brake caliper.
7. Ensure the brake pad pin is fully seated in the brake caliper.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
8. Install the brake caliper guide pin bolt (1) and tighten the bolt to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).
9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w RT2) Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w RT2)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w/o RT2) Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (w/o RT2).
