Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LSA)

BO-38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LFX, Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSA, LS3, L99 Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill).

2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.




3. Reposition the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly clamps (1) using BO-38185 - pliers.

4. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) from the heater core tubes.




5. Reposition the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly clamps (1) using BO-38185 - pliers.

6. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) from the water pump housing tubes.




7. Remove the inlet and outlet hose assembly bracket fastener (2).

8. Remove the fuel feed and return front pipe heat shield. Refer to Fuel Feed and Return Front Pipe Heat Shield Replacement Fuel Feed and Return Front Pipe Heat Shield Replacement.




9. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) to the vehicle.




2. Install the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly clamps (1) using BO-38185 - pliers.

Note: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hose with clean coolant prior to installation.

Install the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) to the heater core tubes.




3. Install the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly clamps (1) using BO-38185 - pliers.
Install the heater inlet and outlet hose assembly (3) to the water pump housing tubes.




4. Install the inlet and outlet hose bracket fastener (2).

5. Install the fuel feed and return front pipe heat shield. Refer to Fuel Feed and Return Front Pipe Heat Shield Replacement Fuel Feed and Return Front Pipe Heat Shield Replacement.

6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.

7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LFX, Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSA, LS3, L99 Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill).

8. Check for coolant leaks. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
