Windshield Washer Spray Nozzle: Adjustments

Windshield Washer Nozzle Adjustment

Spray Pattern Adjustment

Note:
All adjustments must be completed with the hood assembly in the FULL closed position.

1. The first measurement (a) is from the top of the C-line molding, at the windshield washer nozzle, vertical, up the windshield either from the passenger side or driver side.

2. This measurement is the bottom edge of the lower spray pattern.

3. Measure from the top edge of the lower windshield molding (a) in an upward vertical line between 169-209 mm (6.7-8.2") to have the location for the bottom edge of the lower spray pattern.

4. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the windshield washer spray pattern is tested.

5. Measure from the top edge of the windshield (b) in a downward vertical line between 69-355 mm (2.7-13.9") to have the location for the top edge of the upper spray pattern.

6. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the windshield washer spray pattern is tested.

7. Measure from the outer edge of the lower windshield (c) in a horizontal line between 161-270 mm (6.3-10.6") to have the location for the outer edge of the lower spray pattern.

8. Make a small mark with a wax-pencil to use as a reference point when the windshield washer spray pattern is tested.

9. Operate the windshield washers and notice the spray contact patterns as the washer nozzles spray.

10. Turn OFF the wiper system and make any needed adjustment to the windshield washer nozzles.

11. Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to move and adjust the ball socket within the windshield washer nozzle.

12. After every adjustment, re-check the spray pattern location, (as shown) of the windshield washer solvent contact to the windshield glass surface.

13. Clean the windshield, removing the wax-pencil marks made previously from the spray pattern reference points.

14. Fill the windshield washer solvent container to full capacity with new windshield washer solvent.
