Oil Tank Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front wheelhouse liners.
2. Remove the front bumper fascia.
3. Remove the front air deflector.
4. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Remove the engine oil fill cap (3).
6. Remove the engine oil level indicator (9).
7. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation contaminated air pipe (5) from the oil tank contaminated air port (4).
8. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation fresh air pipe (1) from the oil tank fresh air port (2).
9. Disconnect the oil tank inlet pipe (7) from the oil tank inlet port (8).
10. Remove the oil tank upper bracket to oil tank retaining clamp (6).
11. Disconnect the oil tank outlet pipe (1) from the oil tank outlet port (2).
Note:
The oil tank front bracket retaining nut (1) is a single use part and must be discarded after removal.
12. Remove the oil tank front bracket retaining nut (1).
Note:
The oil tank rear bracket retaining nut (2) is a single use part and must be discarded after removal.
13. Remove the oil tank rear bracket retaining nut (2).
14. Remove the oil tank (1) from the vehicle.
15. Place the oil tank (2) on a suitable surface.
16. Remove the oil tank inlet port quick connect fitting (1) from the oil tank (2).
17. Remove the oil tank outlet port quick connect fitting (3) from the oil tank (2).
Installation Procedure
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
1. Install the NEW oil tank outlet port quick connect fitting (3) to the oil tank (2).
Tighten the fitting to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).
2. Install the NEW oil tank inlet port quick connect fitting (1) to the oil tank (2).
Tighten the fitting to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).
3. Install the oil tank (1) to the vehicle.
Note:
The oil tank rear bracket retaining nut (2) is a single use part. A NEW nut must be installed.
4. Install the oil tank rear bracket retaining nut (2).
Tighten the nut to 14 Nm (124 lb in).
Note:
The oil tank front bracket retaining nut (1) is a single use part. A NEW nut must be installed.
5. Install the oil tank front bracket retaining nut (1).
Tighten the nut to 14 Nm (124 lb in).
6. Connect the oil tank outlet pipe (1) to the oil tank outlet port (2).
7. Install the oil tank upper bracket to oil tank, retaining clamp (6).
Tighten the clamp to 7 Nm (80 lb in).
8. Connect the oil tank inlet pipe (7) to the oil tank inlet port (8).
9. Connect the positive crankcase ventilation fresh air pipe (1) to the oil tank fresh air port (2).
10. Connect the positive crankcase ventilation contaminated air pipe (5) to the oil tank contaminated air port (4).
11. Install the engine oil level indicator (6).
12. Install the engine oil fill cap (5).
13. Install the front air deflector.
14. Install the front bumper fascia.
15. Install the front wheelhouse liners.
16. Refill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement Service and Repair.
17. Check for engine oil leaks.
