Water Pump Installation

Caution:
DO NOT use cooling system seal tabs, or similar compounds, unless otherwise instructed. The use of cooling system seal tabs, or similar compounds, may restrict coolant flow through the passages of the cooling system or the engine components. Restricted coolant flow may cause engine overheating and/or damage to the cooling system or the engine components/assembly.





Note:
Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and free of grease.

1. Insert two water pump to engine retaining bolts (1) at each end of the water pump (2), place the new gasket on the bolts and use this as a guide to install the water pump (2).

2. Install the water pump (2).

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install and tighten the remaining water pump to engine retaining bolts (1).

* Tighten the bolts at first pass to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).

* Tighten the bolts at final pass to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
