Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement.




2. Remove the left hand defroster outlet duct screws (1).

3. Remove the left hand defroster outlet duct (2) from the I/P upper trim pad (3).




4. Remove the right hand defroster outlet duct screws (1).

5. Remove the right hand defroster outlet duct (2) from the I/P upper trim pad (3).




6. Disengage the defroster duct to instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad retaining clips (2).

7. Remove the defroster duct assembly (1) from the I/P upper trim pad (3).

Installation Procedure





Note: Make sure the defroster duct to instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad retaining clips (2) are engaged to avoid an induced rattle condition.

1. Install the defroster duct assembly (1) to the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad (3).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the right hand defroster outlet duct (2).

3. Install the right hand defroster outlet duct screws (1) and tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




4. Install the left hand defroster outlet duct (2).

5. Install the left hand defroster outlet duct screws (1) and tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
