Vent Hose Replacement (6L80)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the vent hose retainer (1) from the rear of the left cylinder head.

Danger:
To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

3. Remove the vent hose bracket to body retaining bolt (4).

4. Remove the vent hose bracket to transmission support retaining nut (3).

5. Disconnect the vent hose from the transmission vent tube (2).

6. Remove the vent hose assembly from the vehicle.

7. If required, separate the vent pipe extension from the main vent tube (5).

Installation Procedure





1. If required, connect the vent pipe extension to the main vent tube (5).

2. Install the vent hose assembly to the vehicle.

3. Connect the vent hose to the transmission vent tube (2).

Note:
Make sure the retainer engages correctly.

4. Install the vent hose bracket to transmission support retaining nut (3) and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb in).

5. Install the transmission vent hose bracket to body retaining bolt (4) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

6. Lower the vehicle.

7. Install the vent hose retainer (1) to the rear of the left cylinder head.
