Quarter Window Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning
When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.
Warning
If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
1. Remove the front and rear side door outer opening frame upper reveal molding. Refer to Front and Rear Side Door Outer Opening Frame Upper Reveal Molding Replacement .
2. Remove the centre pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
Note:
Nuts with micro-encapsulated thread sealant are single use parts and must be discarded after removal.
3. Remove the quarter window to body retaining nuts (1).
Discard the nuts.
4. Remove the quarter window (2) from the vehicle.
5. Inspect the quarter window seal (3) for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace if necessary.
Installation Procedure
Note:
Inspect the quarter window seal (3) for excessive wear and/or damage. Replace if necessary.
1. Install the quarter window (2) to the vehicle.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the quarter window to body retaining nuts (1) and tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb in).
3. Install the centre pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
4. Install the front and rear side door outer opening frame upper reveal molding. Refer to Front and Rear Side Door Outer Opening Frame Upper Reveal Molding Replacement .
