EN 46104 - Water Pump Pulley Holder

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement Service and Repair.





3. Use the EN 46104 - water pump pulley holder (1) to retain the pulley.





4. Remove the water pump pulley fasteners (1).

5. Remove the water pump pulley (2).





6. Remove the water pump fasteners (1) and remove the water pump (3).

7. Discard the water pump seal (2).

8. Carefully clean the water pump sealing surfaces.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the water pump (3) with a NEW seal (2) and hand tighten the water pump fasteners (1).





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Tighten the water pump bolts in the sequence shown to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

3. Tighten the water pump bolts a second pass in sequence to 12 Nm (106 lb in).





4. Use the EN 46104 - water pump pulley holder to hold the pulley.

5. Install the water pump pulley (2) and tighten the water pump pulley fasteners (1) to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement Service and Repair.

7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Cooling System Draining and Filling.

8. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
