Shift Lever Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement.

2. Disconnect the shift lever electrical connector at the base of the steering column.

3. Remove the shift lever screw (3) from the shift lever (4).

4. Disengage the shift lever (4) from the linear shift assembly.

5. Transfer the shift lever seal (2) if needed.

Installation Procedure

1. Engage the shift lever (4) to the linear shift assembly.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the shift lever screw (3) to the shift lever (4) and tighten it to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the shift lever electrical connector at the base of the steering column.

4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement.
