Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (UDY)

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair.





2. Remove the instrument panel assembly (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement.





3. Remove the front floor console assembly (5). Refer to Front Floor Console Assembly Replacement Front Floor Console Assembly Replacement.





4. Remove the steering column opening lower filler (2). Refer to Steering Column Opening Lower Filler Replacement Steering Column Opening Lower Filler Replacement.





5. Remove the steering column (2). Refer to Steering Column Replacement Steering Column Replacement.





6. Remove the instrument panel compartment door opening frame (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Opening Frame Replacement Instrument Panel Compartment Door Opening Frame Replacement.





7. Remove the driver information display (UDY) (2). Refer to Driver Information Display Replacement (UAG) Driver Information Display Replacement (UAG)Driver Information Display Replacement (UDY) Driver Information Display Replacement (UDY).





8. Remove the radio control assembly (2). Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement Radio Control Assembly Replacement.





9. Remove the heater and air conditioning remote control (1). Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Remote Control Replacement Heater and Air Conditioning Remote Control Replacement





10. Remove the eight instrument panel carrier assembly fasteners (1).

11. Note location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal of the instrument panel carrier to ensure proper reinstallation.

12. Disconnect the wiring harness from the instrument panel carrier.

13. With the aid of an assistant, remove the instrument panel carrier (2) from the vehicle.

14. When replacing the instrument panel carrier (2), transfer all necessary components.

Installation Procedure

1. With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel carrier (2) into the vehicle.

2. Reposition the instrument panel wiring harness into vehicle position as was noted in the removal process and connect the fasteners securing the instrument panel wiring harness to the instrument panel carrier.

3. Install the eight instrument panel carrier assembly fasteners (1).





4. Install the heater and air conditioning remote control (1). Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Remote Control Replacement Heater and Air Conditioning Remote Control Replacement





5. Install the radio control assembly (2). Refer to Radio Control Assembly Replacement Radio Control Assembly Replacement.





6. Install the driver information display (UDY) (2). Refer to Driver Information Display Replacement (UAG) Driver Information Display Replacement (UAG)Driver Information Display Replacement (UDY) Driver Information Display Replacement (UDY).





7. Install the instrument panel compartment door opening frame (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Opening Frame Replacement Instrument Panel Compartment Door Opening Frame Replacement.





8. Install the steering column (2). Refer to Steering Column Replacement Steering Column Replacement.





9. Install the steering column opening lower filler (2). Refer to Steering Column Opening Lower Filler Replacement Steering Column Opening Lower Filler Replacement.





10. Install the front floor assembly (5). Refer to Front Floor Console Assembly Replacement Front Floor Console Assembly Replacement.





11. Install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement.

12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair.
