Knock Sensor Replacement - Bank 2

Removal Procedure





Danger:
To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


Warning:

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness retaining clip (1).





3. Remove the knock sensor (KS) electrical (1) connector from the KS (2).

4. Remove the KS (3) to engine block retaining bolt (2).

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the KS (2) to the engine block and tighten the retaining bolt (1) to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).

2. Install the knock sensor (KS) electrical (3) connector to the KS.

3. Lower the vehicle.
