Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Install and tighten the NEW cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown.

First Pass 30 Nm (22 lb ft)
Final Pass plus an additional 155 degrees






Install the NEW front cylinder head bolts 35 Nm (26 lb ft)


Intake Camshaft Cap Bolts
First Pass: Tighten the camshaft cap bolts in increments of 3 turns until they are seated.
Final Pass: Tighten the camshaft caps to 10 Nm (89 lb in)

Number 6 Intake Camshaft Rear Cap
First Pass: Tighten the cap bolts evenly to 5 Nm (44 lb in)
Second Pass: Tighten the cap bolts evenly to 10 Nm (89 lb in)
Back the cap bolts out 120 degrees.
Final Pass: Tighten the cap bolts evenly to 10 Nm (89 lb in)

Exhaust Camshaft Cap Bolts
Final Pass: Tighten the cap bolts evenly to 10 Nm (89 lb in)


Cylinder Head Surface Flatness - Block Deck - Longitude 0.050 mm (0.002 in)
Cylinder Head Surface Flatness - Block Deck - Overall 0.1 mm (0.004 in)
Cylinder Head Surface Flatness - Block Deck - Transverse 0.030 mm (0.0012 in)
