Park Brake Hardware Inspection (With Dual Rear Wheel)





1. Visually inspect the park brake hold down spring cups (1) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Bent hold down spring cups

* Missing hold down spring cups

2. Visually inspect the park brake hold down springs (2) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Broken springs

* Missing springs

3. Visually inspect the park brake hold down spring pins (3) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Bent pins

* Broken pins

* Missing pins

4. Visually inspect the park brake return springs (4) (outer and inner) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Excessive stretching

* Excessively bent springs

* Broken springs

* Incorrect outer and inner spring positioning

The outer return spring must be installed with the hook ends above the inner return spring hook ends. If the return springs are incorrectly positioned, remove and reposition the outer spring hook ends above the inner return spring hook ends.

* Missing springs

5. Visually inspect the park brake actuator (5) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Bent park brake shoe engagement tabs

* Broken park brake shoe engagement tabs

* Bent park brake cable engagement tab

* Broken park brake cable engagement tab

* Broken actuator pivot pin

* Seized actuator

* Missing actuator

6. Visually inspect the park brake adjuster spring (6) for the following conditions:

* Excessive corrosion

* Excessive stretching

* Excessively bent

* Broken

* Missing

7. If any of the conditions listed were found, the park brake hardware requires repair or replacement.
