Check
    Shift Interlock, A/T
      Check automatic transmission shift lock control function. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Check.
    Parking Brake System
      Check parking brake and automatic transmission park mechanism. Refer to Park Brake and P (Park) Mechanism Check.
    Neutral Safety Switch
      Check starter switch. Refer to Starter Switch Check.
    Ignition Lock
      Check ignition transmission lock. Refer to Ignition Transmission Lock Check.
Inspect
    Wiper Blade
      Visually inspect windshield wiper blades for wear, cracking, or contamination. Replace worn or damaged wiper blades.
    Washer Fluid
      Check windshield washer fluid level.
    Steering and Suspension
      Visually inspect steering, suspension, and chassis components for damaged, loose, or missing parts or signs of wear. Visually inspect the front and rear suspension and steering system for damaged, loose, or missing parts or signs of wear. Inspect the power steering for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc. Visually check constant velocity joints, rubber boots, and axle seals for leaks.
    Restraints and Safety Systems
      Check restraint system components. Check that the safety belt reminder light, safety belts, buckles, latch plates, retractors, and anchorages are all working properly. Look for any other loose or damaged safety belt system parts that might keep a safety belt system from doing its job. Torn or frayed safety belts may not protect you in a crash. They can rip apart under impact forces. If a belt is torn or frayed, get a new one right away.
    Hood Shock / Support
      Visually inspect gas strut for signs of wear, cracks, or other damage. Check the hold open ability of the strut.
    Fuel Delivery and Air Induction
      Visually inspect fuel system for damage or leaks.
    Fluids
      Visually check vehicle for fluid leaks.
    Exhaust System
      Visually inspect exhaust system and nearby heat shields for loose or damaged parts.
    Engine Oil
      Check engine oil level and oil life percentage. If needed, change engine oil and filter, and reset oil life system.
    Coolant
      Check engine coolant level.
    Air Filter Element
      Inspect engine air cleaner filter. To inspect the engine air cleaner/filter, remove the filter from the vehicle and lightly shake the filter to release loose dust and dirt. If the filter remains covered with dirt, a new filter is required.
    Accelerator Pedal
      Check accelerator pedal for damage, high effort, or binding. Replace if needed.
Rotate
    Tires
      Rotate Tires, Inspect brake system. Check inflation pressures and wear. Reset tire pressure monitor, if equipped. Do not rotate directional tires.
