Glow Plug Replacement - Bank 1

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

3. If necessary, remove the left front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.

4. Remove the wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement Service and Repair.

5. Remove the glow plug harness nut(s).

6. Remove the harness from the glow plug(s).

Note: If a glow plug is replaced and the tip is missing or burned off, the cylinder head must be removed and all debris must be cleaned out of the cylinder.

7. Remove the glow plug(s).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the glow plug(s) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).

2. Install the harness to the glow plug(s).

3. Install the glow plug harness nut(s) and tighten to 1.7 Nm (15 lb in).

4. Install the left front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.

5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

6. Install the wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement Service and Repair.

7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
