Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Cleaning and Inspection




1. Clean the flywheel (2) in solvent.

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.


2. Dry the flywheel with compressed air.

3. Inspect the flywheel for the following:

* Damaged ring gear teeth.

* Stress cracks around the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolt hole locations.

* Weight saving holes.
