Intake Manifold Replacement (LCV)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LCV) Intake Manifold Cover ReplacementIntake Manifold Cover Replacement (LTG) Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.




2. Remove the PCV pipe (1). Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (LCV) Service and RepairPositive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Camshaft Cover to Air Cleaner Resonator to Outlet Duct) Service and Repair.




3. Remove the brake vacuum pipe (1). Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe ReplacementPower Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0L 2.5L) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement.




4. Remove the EVAP canister valve (1).

5. Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Removal and Replacement.

6. Remove the fuel pump. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement.




7. Remove the intake bolts (1).

8. Remove the intake manifold (2) from the vehicle.




9. Remove the intake manifold gasket (1) and DISCARD.

10. For intake manifold cleaning and inspection. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the intake manifold gasket (1).




2. Install the intake manifold (2).

3. Hand start the intake manifold bolts (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

4. Tighten the fastener in sequence twice to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

5. Install the fuel pump. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement.

6. Install the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement Removal and Replacement.




7. Install the EVAP canister valve (1).




8. Install the brake vacuum pipe (1). Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.4L) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe ReplacementPower Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement (2.0L 2.5L) Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement.




9. Install the PCV pipe (1). Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (LCV) Service and RepairPositive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (Camshaft Cover to Air Cleaner Resonator to Outlet Duct) Service and Repair.

10. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LCV) Intake Manifold Cover ReplacementIntake Manifold Cover Replacement (LTG) Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
