A/T - THM 400 No Reverse

TSB 88-24 (June)

THM 400

PROBLEMS: No Reverse

CAUSE: Reverse band anchor pins backed out of case

When rebuilding a THM 400 transmission, always check the two pins that anchor the reverse band. If these pins back out of the case, the reaction carrier can't be held when the reverse band is applied.

Also check to see that the pins have not worked their way too deep into the case. This could cause the reverse band to fail.

Always check band anchor pins in any transmission being overhauled. A loose pin, or pin that is too deep can cause premature band failure, no band apply, or an oil leak at the case.
