Defect, Vehicle, Owner and Campaign Information
DEFECT INVOLVEDGeneral Motors has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1989 Chevrolet C15-35 trucks. The vehicles may have right-hand lower control arm bolts with torque prevailing nuts that were not tightened to the specified torque (Specified 155-180 N-m; Actual 60-65 Nm). While the nut will not come off of the bolt, it can become loose and result in a noticeable clunking noise during suspension movement.
To prevent this condition from occurring, Chevrolet will tighten the attaching bolts to the specified torque.
