Inspection

1. Inspect gear pockets, crescent, pump body face and bushing for scoring, nicks or wear.

2. Inspect oil passages for foreign material or debris, porosity, scored or irregular mating surfaces and cross channel leaks.

3. Inspect pump body bolt threads for damage.

4. Inspect oil seal and bushing for wear or damage.

5. Install pump gears in marked positions.

6. Measure clearance between gears and body, ensuring clearance is 0.0008-0.0035 inch.

7. Check pump body with straightedge to ensure flatness.

8. Inspect pump gear face for wear or scoring.

9. Check for stripped or damaged stator shaft splines.

10. Inspect bushings for wear or galling.

11. Inspect oil ring grooves for nicks, burrs or debris.

12. Inspect pressure regulator and boost regulator valves for free movement in bore, chips, burrs, distortion or plugged oil passages.

13. Ensure breather hole in pump cover is not blocked.

14. Install pump gears in body then measure between gears and body, 0.0008-0.0035 inch is maximum clearance.

15. Ensure pump body is flat with a straightedge.
